COMMON OVERSIGHTS IN BUILDING SERVICES PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION –PROJECT PROFITABILITY IN PERSPECTIVE

 

We have been in the building services industry for a while now as consultants and also as Technical Directors for implementations and have discovered some common pitfalls leading to low profitability due to particular and repeated poor project administration strategies that can be improved upon. Projects are not profitable just because the SELL rates are high but primarily because value engineering strategies are deplored consistently.

We carry out the basic review in one or two session based on the scope to be covered as will be discussed or via the brief received. Otherwise, a training session that could run for weeks at client location may be recommended. The 1st session allows us to understand how it had been and especially when the brief is not clear.

The second session always focuses on how THINGS SHOULD RUN. The second session may not be the next day when the required competence is to be outsourced. However, such may be within the week of the 1st session.
